Live Sessions Surveys
Overview
Surveys help you gather structured input from learners that are involved in a training session or a conference. On a live session you can use surveys in two places:
- During the registration process
- After the training has been completed to request feedback
Prerequisites
To use a survey on a live session you first need to create the survey and the questions. For more information on how to do this please check the detailed guide.
Registration Survey
Use this option to gather data from learners before they registered to a session (accommodation, meal preferences). The survey will be prompted when a learner tries to register for that session.
Only one registration survey can be added to a session.
Add a registration survey to a session
- Open the Live Session Edit side modal
- Go to the registration section and select the survey that you want to use
- Submit the form and the survey will now be used in the registration process
Feedback Survey/Feedback Form
After the session has been completed you can send multiple feedback forms to the participants based on what data you want to collect.
Session NPS
You can include an NPS type question in each feedback form. Based on this the system will calculate an NPS for your session. This is calculated based on the formula presented here
For sessions with multiple feedback surveys only responses from the first feedback form are taken into consideration for NPS calculation
Add feedback surveys to a session
- Open the Live Session Edit side modal
- Go to the details section and select the survey that you want to use from the
Feedback Formsfield - Submit the form and the survey will be available to be sent to learners.
Notify learners of surveys
When it comes to registration surveys the learner will see the form while attempting to register for that session. If for some reason the learner was added manually you can still gather registration data by sending the survey form manually.
Feedback forms on the other hand need to be sent manually to a learner, over email.
How to manually send a survey form
- Go to the Session View page
- From the Learners Card select the learners that should receive the survey form
- Select the Send Emails option from the table actions menu
- A side modal will appear where you can select the type of email that you want to send. Select Registration Form or Feedback Form based on what you want to do.
- Customize the notification and send it to the selected learners
Analyze session survey responses
You can view all the responses from a survey form right in the Surveys Card, from the Session View page. From there you can track learners responses and decide if further actions are required (e.g. send Feedback form reminder, improve feedback form)
The results can be filtered and sorted based on various fields and the data can also be exported by clicking on the Export button from the top right corner of the card.
From there you can view responses grouped by learners. Each row is expandable and, when toggled, shows you all the answers of a learner.
Export Answers
For using surveys data in decision-making processes or reports you can choose to export answers as an .xlsx file in the following formats:
- Individual Responses - a single sheet file with all the answers
- Grouped Responses - a multi sheet file, where the first sheet shows you live session information and the other sheets ar grouped per survey form
If you want to access survey responses from various training sessions you need to export that data from the Analytics Page.
